Chapter 6

Virgil Bryan

Steam rose from the churning water, twisting in the cool night air. Virgil leaned back against the tiled edge of the jacuzzi, Lisa's soft curves pressed against his muscular frame. Her lips found his, hungry and insistent. He savored the kiss, his hands gliding over her slick skin, tracing the dip of her waist and the swell of her hips.

Lisa broke away, her green eyes glinting with mischief and desire. "Bryan, I've been thinking..." Her fingers played over his broad chest. "What if I rented a room from you? Stayed here a while longer? You know, instead of renting some dump of an apartment or something. I like it here and…"

Virgil's pulse quickened at her words, his mind racing, having her under his roof for more than a week or two as he intended. Having her so close for the foreseeable future was a temptation he wasn't sure he could resist. Shit, this could get complicated fast. But the thought of waking up to her under his roof every morning, of stolen moments and secret trysts, sent a thrill through him.

"Are you trying to be my tenant or lover, Turner?" he asked, arching an eyebrow.

She grinned, nipping at his bottom lip. "Can I be both? Think about it - late-night dips in the hot tub, breakfast in bed..." Her voice dropped to a purr. "No more lonely nights, but no pressure, either. You can still bring over anyone you want…Joyce, for example, or even Hannah. I’ll sleep in my room, but sometimes, I'll sleep with you if you want."

Virgil groaned as she pressed closer, her breasts brushing his chest. He knew he should say no, knew it would blur the lines more than they already were. But with Lisa warm and willing in his arms, her offer sounded damn near perfect.

"Okay, you little minx," he growled, capturing her mouth in a searing kiss. "You've got yourself a deal. But if we do this, we do it my way. This is my house, so no redecorating outside your room and no parties without checking with me first."

Lisa laughed, the sound husky and warm. "Whatever you say, Bryan. The house is yours, and so am I."

Lisa's hand slid beneath the frothing water, her fingers curling around Virgil's hardened length. He hissed in a breath as she stroked him slowly, teasingly.

"What do you mean, you're mine?" He managed to ask between kisses, his voice rough with desire.

Her green eyes sparkled with mischief. "I mean, I'm yours to do with as you please, Bryan. In and out of the bedroom." She punctuated her words with a firm squeeze. "Like here, in the jacuzzi, for example."

Virgil's mind reeled. This wild, unpredictable woman who'd always presented herself as so prim and proper had offered herself to him, no strings attached.
